Nadhim Zahawi is a former Member of Parliament for Stratford-on-Avon, with a career spanning politics, business, and public service. Among other senior Ministerial roles, he served as Chancellor of the Exchequer.
Born in Baghdad, he arrived in the UK as a child refugee and spoke no English. Before entering politics, Zahawi co-founded the polling company YouGov, serving as its Chief Executive. In Government, he held several senior positions, including Education Secretary and Chancellor of the Exchequer, but is perhaps best known for his role as Minister for COVID Vaccine Deployment, where he was responsible for coordinating the delivery of one of the largest vaccination programmes in the UK’s history.
Alongside his political career, Nadhim has remained active in business and public service, focusing on issues such as education, economic development, and innovation. In addition to his role at Millbank, he currently serves as Chairman of the Advisory Board for Omniyat - one of the UAE's largest luxury property developers.
